Deploying Agent Swarms Inside the Enterprise: Nous Research’s Open-Source Playbook
Open-source collective Nous Research has achieved a $1.5B valuation with a $90M Series B led by Robot Ventures and Nvidia, launching enterprise suites to monetize its viral Hermes agent architecture.
Secure enterprise server architecture executing decentralized autonomous agent workflows.
Open-source artificial intelligence has minted its latest unicorn: Nous Research. Following a $90 million Series B funding round led by Robot Ventures with strategic backing from Nvidia, Menlo Ventures, and Samsung, the research collective is now valued at $1.5 billion. The investment marks the commercial coming-of-age for the Hermes model family, which has powered tens of millions of autonomous developer sessions worldwide.
From Grassroots Hackers to 2.5% of Global Open-Source Tokens
Nous Research built its devoted following by releasing uncensored, mathematically rigorous fine-tunes optimized specifically for tool usage, reasoning traces, and multi-step agent loops. With over 24 million community downloads, Hermes models account for an estimated 2.5% of all open-source inference requests processed globally.
Introducing Hermes for Businesses
To support its path toward $100M in ARR, Nous Research is deploying "Hermes for Businesses"—a turn-key platform allowing banks, healthcare networks, and software companies to orchestrate multi-agent swarms on private on-premises clusters. Rather than sending confidential corporate queries to third-party cloud APIs, enterprises maintain complete sovereignty over their data pipelines.
